Which card should you use to add to Facebook ad account?
In order to pay for Facebook advertising fees, an international payment card is required. Visa/Mastercard is a popular choice among advertisers as it enables quick and convenient international transactions, especially for paying advertising fees to Facebook. There are three primary types of Visa cards commonly used today:
- Visa Debit Card: This card requires pre-loading money in order to be used. Advertisers can only pay for Facebook ads if the card has an available balance. It is widely used for running Facebook ads due to its ease of budget control and management.
- Visa Credit Card: With this type of card, advertisers receive a credit limit from Facebook and are required to repay within a specified period.
- Visa Prepaid Card: Similar to Visa Debit, users need to deposit funds in advance for transactions. However, this card is not linked to a bank account number and typically has limited capabilities for ATM withdrawals or fund transfers.
Based on the needs of each advertiser or business, the type of card chosen to add to the advertising account will be different. If you need to make advertising cards, you can choose some reputable banks: Vietcombank, MB Bank, Vietinbank, VPbank, ACB, and SCB (allowing you to make many cards).

How to remove Visa card from advertising account
In addition to learning how to add a card to your Facebook advertising account, you also need to know how to remove a Visa card from your account. In case your advertising account is disabled, you need to remove the Visa card from the account to avoid risks. If you want to remove your Visa card, make sure you are the admin of the ad account.
Before removing your main payment method, you should add another payment method if you don’t want your ads to stop working. You need to pay all outstanding balances on your account in full before removing the card. If your ad is still running, you should pause it and pay any outstanding balance.
Wait up to 48 hours after all ads are paused before removing your Visa card. Use the Pay Now button to pay any outstanding balance on your account before continuing to remove your payment method.
Regarding the tag removal process, log in to your advertising account. Use 3G/4G/5G network to avoid affecting other advertising accounts using the same IP. Then access the Billing Settings section of your account via the link: https://www.facebook.com/ads/manager/account_settings/account_billing
In the Payment method section, find the payment method you want to remove and click on the “…” icon next to it, and select Remove. In the Remove payment method section, click Remove and then select Done. Then, check the tags you want to remove from your Facebook advertising account and click the Delete button to finish.
Some notes when adding cards to advertising accounts
- If you have multiple payment methods saved to your ad account, you can set a default payment method. Facebook will then use prepaid funds if available or will charge according to your default payment method for ad payment if there aren’t any prepaid funds.
- Before applying the method of adding cards to your Facebook advertising account, you need to make sure your account has been set up to automatically pay for ads.
- After successfully adding a payment account, you should wait 2 to 3 days before starting to run ads on Facebook. To prevent Facebook from suspecting fake accounts, you should run low-budget ads at first and then increase the limit.
- In case your account owes a fee to Facebook, you cannot add a bank card unless you add another payment method and cover that debt.
- You should have a primary card and a secondary payment in case the primary card runs out of money or is locked, then switch to the secondary card to avoid interruption of ad campaign.
- If you cannot add a Facebook payment method, check the type of card you are using. The card type may not be supported. If you add cards that have been used for ad payment before, you need to make sure that the card is completely “clean”, and has not encountered any payment problems, or bad debts.
